General Policies

Checking in. Our Office is at 2000 Old Spanish Trail Highway. We are open from 10am to 8 pm. This is where to check in for all facilities. Check-in is 3:00 p.m. Check-out is 1 p.m.

Smoking. We are a non-smoking facility by California law, however, we provide smoking areas outside each facility for our guests.

Pets and stock animals. Horses, mules, and other stock animals are welcome on our properties. We do not provide corrals or feed. Parking, shade, and water are provided for a fee. Dogs and cats are loved, but are not allowed in the rooms. Bona fide guide dogs are, of course, the exception.

Weather. You will be coming deep into the Mojave Desert. (We get rain too!). Sometimes we have weather related power outages, high winds and dust storms. Once you have checked into our facility and these conditions occur, they will not result in a refund of your stay. Instead we all hunker down and weather it together. (It can actually be fun!)

Flooding. If flash flooding occurs during your stay, your travel plans can be delayed briefly. If this occurs and you need to extend your stay, you will be charged the standard rates.

Right to refuse. This is a family owned and operated business and our home, therefore, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Tipi Information and Rules:

  • Please check in at our office before settling in to your tipi. The office is located at 2000 Old Spanish Trail Highway. Your on-site innkeeper, and owner of The Ranch House Inn, is Cynthia. We want your stay to be as welcoming and personable as possible. Please understand that Cynthia cannot be at China Ranch full time. Our office at the Old Spanish Trail Ranch House Inn property is open 9 am to 9 pm, and office staff are happy to assist you with any questions.
  • Breakfast is served in the cottage from 8-10 am.
  • Feel free to use the sitting room and library inside the cottage for reading and relaxation.
  • Bathrooms are shared and located inside the cottage.
